Breaking Open is a new Nubuke+ exhibition by writer Zoë Gadegbeku, inviting visitors into the creative world behind her debut novel, Blue Futures, Break Open.
For the exhibition, Zoë transforms the gallery into a writing studio of sorts—a space shaped by the books, artworks, films, music, personal objects, and family photographs that accompanied the novel’s making. Together, they offer an intimate look at the research, references, histories, and spiritual traditions that informed her writing, and at the many influences that can sit behind a single work of literature.
Join us for the opening on Saturday, 26 September 2026, from 10:00 AM. At 3:00 PM, Zoë will give a special artist talk, sharing more about her creative process, the journey behind Breaking Open, and the ideas that shaped both the exhibition and her debut novel, followed by an opportunity for audience questions.
Breaking Open is on view at Nubuke Foundation, East Legon, from 26 September – 10 October 2026.
