Short answer: Open an event on ayatickets.com, tap Get tickets on WhatsApp, then follow Aya in chat to pick your date, ticket type, and quantity. Pay with Ghana Mobile Money (MTN, Telecel, or AirtelTigo). Your ticket links and QR codes arrive in the same WhatsApp conversation.
Who this is for
Anyone in Ghana who already uses WhatsApp and wants to buy event tickets without opening a browser for the whole checkout. You do not need an AYATICKETS account.
Fastest way to start
- Find the event on the AYATICKETS website or app.
- On the event page, tap Get tickets on WhatsApp (or the WhatsApp button on mobile).
- WhatsApp opens with your event code ready to send—tap send to start.
That code is usually the same short code used for USSD, or your event reference. You can also message the bot with an event name or pick from the event list if you did not come from a link.
Step-by-step in chat
- Choose the event — confirm the listing or search by name.
- Choose date and time — for events with multiple dates, pick the occurrence you want (or type a date such as 15 Oct).
- Choose ticket type — reply with the number from the list or tap the buttons.
- Quantity — send a number from 1 to 10.
- Review the summary — check event, date, fees, and total.
- Paid tickets — tap Pay, confirm your MoMo number (your WhatsApp number or another Ghana wallet), then choose MTN, Telecel, or AirtelTigo.
- Approve MoMo — approve the payment prompt on your phone. When payment confirms, tickets are sent in WhatsApp.
- Free tickets / RSVP — tap Confirm instead of Pay. You still receive your ticket in chat.
Type menu at any time to see events again. Type help or support for customer service (human team on a separate WhatsApp line).
What you receive
- Ticket reference and link for each ticket
- QR image for entry when the event uses QR check-in
- Keep the chat or save the links—you can show the QR at the door
WhatsApp purchases use a placeholder email on our system; your proof of purchase is the chat and ticket links. To look up an order later, use Find My Tickets with the MoMo number or details you used.
When WhatsApp sales are not available
- Password-protected events — buy on the website with the event link and password.
- Coming soon / not on sale yet — wait until ticket sales open or use a scheduled launch on the event page.
- Sold out or ended — the bot will tell you tickets are no longer available.
- Some events may not be enabled for WhatsApp even if they sell on the website—use standard checkout instead.
Payment problems
- No MoMo prompt? See why you might not get a payment prompt (balance, network, or approval timeout).
- Payment failed — try again or type menu to start a new order.
- If you already approved MoMo, wait a minute—tickets can still arrive after you cancel browsing in chat.
- Too many payment attempts in a short time — wait a few minutes before trying again.
FAQ
Is WhatsApp the same as USSD?
No. USSD uses *365*88# on your phone dialer. WhatsApp uses chat and the same MoMo networks, but checkout happens with Aya in WhatsApp.
Can I use a different MoMo number than my WhatsApp number?
Yes. When asked, tap Another number and type a valid Ghana Mobile Money number.
Do I need the AYATICKETS attendee app?
No. Tickets in WhatsApp work on their own. You can still install the attendee app to browse events.
Refunds
Refund rules follow the event organizer and AYATICKETS policy. Start at how to request a refund or contact support from the bot menu.
