How to Set Up Recurring Events on AYATICKETS

Short answer: After your event has at least one date and ticket types, open Dashboard → My events → Manage → Advanced settings, turn on Recurring event, choose how often dates repeat, and save. AYATICKETS adds future occurrences on the same event page using the same times and tickets—buyers pick the date when they checkout. USSD codes stay on the event.

Who this is for

Organizers running weekly nightlife, church services, classes, comedy nights, or any show that happens on a regular schedule—without creating a new event every week.

Before you turn it on

  • Create the event with at least one event date (start and end time) and active ticket types. That date is the template for new occurrences.
  • Publish when you are ready to sell. Recurring does not replace publishing or ticket launch rules—see the Advanced settings hub.

Steps on the website

  1. Open your event → Manage → Advanced settings.
  2. Scroll to Recurring event and enable it.
  3. Choose a pattern:
    • Weekly — pick the day of the week.
    • Monthly — same calendar date each month.
    • Every N days — custom interval (1–365 days).
  4. Set the range start and either an end date or No end date.
  5. Click Save changes. The summary shows your pattern and how far ahead dates are filled.

You can also manage recurring schedules from the AYATICKETS Organizer app (same rules as the website).

What happens after you save

  • New dates are created for the next six months (or until your end date, whichever comes first).
  • A scheduled job keeps filling the rolling window while recurring stays on.
  • Each auto-generated date uses the same venue, times, and ticket types as your template date (including relative ticket sale windows).
  • Buyers still choose the occurrence on the event page, app, or USSD—they are not forced into one date.

Turning recurring off or shortening the schedule

  • Turn off recurring — stops new dates. Existing dates and ticket sales stay.
  • Move the end date earlier — removes only future auto-generated dates with no sales. Dates that already sold tickets or are payout-locked are kept.

Editing or removing dates

On the website you can edit event dates like any other event. Dates created by recurring are marked internally as generated. You cannot delete a date that already has sales or is locked by a payout request—fix the schedule instead of forcing removal.

FAQ

Does recurring create a new USSD code?

No. USSD stays event-based. Buyers dial your event code and then select the date they want.

Can I use recurring with password protection or hidden listings?

Yes. Visibility and password rules still apply to the whole event. See hidden vs password-protected events.

What if I only need two or three extra dates?

You can add manual dates when editing the event, or use recurring for a long-running series. Turn recurring off when you no longer need automatic dates.
