Short answer: Hidden keeps your event out of public listings but anyone with the link can open the page and buy. Password protection requires a code before tickets are shown—and also removes the event from public listings and USSD menu sales.
Quick comparison
| Goal | Use |
|---|---|
| Share a link privately; no extra step to buy | Hide from listings (Hidden) |
| Only people with a code can see tickets | Password protection |
| Build a list before a scheduled drop | Ticket waitlist + scheduled launch |
| Start selling before the scheduled time | Open sales now |
Listing visibility (Hidden)
Set Listing visibility → Hidden when the event should not appear on the website events list, attendee app discovery, or the public USSD menu. The direct link still works for purchases.
Password protection
Set Password required when you need a gate in front of ticket types. Buyers must unlock the page first. This is stricter than hidden alone and blocks public USSD sales even if someone knows a USSD pattern.
Can I combine them?
Yes. You can hide an event and add a password for maximum control. Remember: a password still removes listings even if visibility is set to Listed.
Where to configure both
All options live under Event Advanced settings on each event.
FAQ
Which is better for a “private link” sale?
Start with Hidden if trusted guests should buy immediately. Add a password if the link might leak and you need an extra gate.
Will either option break my scanner or POS?
No. Check-in and point-of-sale flows still work for valid tickets.
