Short answer: In Advanced settings, choose Password required, set a password (at least 4 characters), and save. Guests must enter it before they see tickets. While protection is on, the event is removed from public listings and cannot be sold via the public USSD menu.
When to use this
- Member-only or staff sales
- Pre-sales where you share a code with a closed group
- Extra control on top of a private link
Steps
- Go to Manage → Advanced settings (overview).
- Under Password protection, select Password required.
- Enter the Password guests must enter. Share it in a separate message from the event link.
- Click Save changes.
- Send attendees the Public page link plus the password.
Important rules
- The password is never included in the event URL.
- While a password is set, your event is not shown on website listings, the attendee app browse sections, or the public USSD menu.
- Changing the password signs everyone out—they must enter the new password.
- Scanner, point of sale, and tickets already sold keep working.
- To turn protection off, choose No password or clear the password, then save.
Listing visibility vs password
You can mark an event Listed and still use a password—but password protection alone removes the event from public discovery. Read Hidden vs password-protected events and how to hide from listings.
